During the Amazon Web Services cloud conference on Tuesday, Amazon unveiled upgraded AI chips, a new chatbot and an expanded partnership with Nvidia. Expanded Nvidia partnership Amazon on Tuesday outlined the details of its deepening partnership with semiconductor firm Nvidia – the global leader in the development of AI chips. Amazon's announcements involved not only Nvidia' bread-and-butter AI chips known as graphics processing units, or GPUs, but also its fast-growing – yet still underappreciated – software-and-service offerings. In general, Amazon has touted its own AI chips as being a lower-cost option for customers. Nvidia's AI hardware is known to carry a hefty price tag .

That's the conclusion of a new Morgan Stanley research report, which makes us feel really good about where we stand on both Club stocks. Each quarter, Morgan Stanley looks at under-owned stocks and over-owned stocks — basically which ones are overlooked and ready for a hot streak and which ones are crowded and ready to cool off. However, Morgan Stanley said Meta kept its most over-owned crown — and coincidently, its shares closed lower. To be sure, Morgan Stanley maintained an overweight rating on Apple shares. At the same, there are three key areas aspects to Nvidia's business that are increasingly coming into focus that show the company's monstrous growth thus far still has more room to run. NVDA 1Y mountain Nvidia's stock performance over the past 12 months. Networking sales The strength in Nvidia's networking business on display in Tuesday's print underscored the company's evolution into a one-stop shop for AI computing in the data center. But its networking business — which sells communications technology to connect different parts of the data center — has become a larger piece of the puzzle. In fact, Nvidia's networking segment has now surpassed a $10 billion annualized revenue rate, the company said Tuesday.

Bottom line This was a very strong quarter, with almost nothing to nitpick. This year's rapid Data Center sales growth we've seen has been driven largely by cloud providers and enterprises. Sales to China and other impacted regions have, in the past few quarters, accounted for 20% to 25% of Data Center sales. However, the team added that they "believe the decline will be more than offset by strong growth in other regions." Guidance Looking ahead to Nvidia's fourth quarter of fiscal 2024, we once again got far stronger guidance than Wall Street was modeling.

The stock market this year has been led by just a handful of the biggest and best tech companies. Just look at the S & P 500 market-cap weighted index, which is viewed as a barometer of the overall stock market. Compare that to the much smaller 3% year-to-date increase in the S & P 500 equal-weight index, which treats each company's stocks the same regardless of market value. It's hard to turn off the monitors and wait for your seven stocks to come back after a terrible year. On top of all that, how many experts really knew heading into 2023 that these were the seven names to back the truck up for?

Media watchdog Media Matters earlier this week said it found that corporate advertisements by IBM, Apple (AAPL.O), Oracle (ORCL.N) and Comcast's (CMCSA.O) Xfinity were being placed alongside antisemitic content. "The split second court opens on Monday, X Corp will be filing a thermonuclear lawsuit against Media Matters and ALL those who colluded in this fraudulent attack on our company," Musk said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. "This week Media Matters for America posted a story that completely misrepresented the real experience on X, in another attempt to undermine freedom of speech and mislead advertisers," a statement posted by Musk said.

Wall Street expects Nvidia (NVDA) to deliver another strong quarterly report Tuesday, as its cutting-edge artificial intelligence chips remain a hot, hard-to-get commodity. The recent trading in Nvidia's stock reflects that optimism, with shares up nearly 20% in November alone. "I don't like the so-called setup," Jim Cramer said, referring to the huge run-up in shares ahead of earnings. It's one piece of evidence behind investors' belief that Nvidia's upcoming earnings report will clear the high bar that's been set. Microsoft hasn't officially disclosed how the Maia 100's performance compares with Nvidia's top-end AI chip and AMD's MI300.

The H200, as the chip is called, will overtake Nvidia's current top H100 chip. The primary upgrade is more high-bandwidth memory, one of the costliest parts of the chip that defines how much data it can process quickly. Nvidia dominates the market for AI chips and powers OpenAI's ChatGPT service and many similar generative AI services that respond to queries with human-like writing. The H200 has 141-gigabytes of high-bandwidth memory, up from 80 gigabyte in its previous H100. Nvidia also buys memory from Korea's SK Hynix (000660.KS), which said last month that AI chips are helping to revive sales.

The multi-year deal will ultimately give Microsoft access to more of Nvidia 's (NVDA) cutting-edge AI chips, which have been in short supply since the launch of OpenAI's ChatGPT last year intensified investments in AI technology. Nvidia is the world's dominant AI chipmaker, and its processors are housed in data centers operated by Oracle, Microsoft and other cloud-computing firms. In forging close ties with Nvidia, Oracle has made its cloud-computing operations more competitive relative to larger providers like Amazon (AMZN), Microsoft and Alphabet (GOOGL). The latest Oracle-Microsoft agreement also carries positive implications for Nvidia, further illustrating just how much demand there is for Nvidia's AI chips. We're exiting our position in Veralto (VLTO), selling 173 shares at roughly $69 each. Following Thursday's trade, Jim Cramer's Charitable Trust will no longer own a position in VLTO. Veralto , the water and packaging quality company, has some interesting long-term prospects as a standalone company that may be worth revisiting down the road. However, Veralto is currently experiencing headwinds due to weakness in China for water quality and lower demand for consumer packaged goods.
